Ronis Villeda has been making sand sculptures in Roatán since 2010, when he started sculpting at the cruise port in Mahogany Bay. Today he shapes custom sand sculptures by hand for resorts, celebrations and private events on the island: names, messages, dates and designs that turn a beach into the photo everyone remembers.

Who makes it
Ronis learned from Paul Abel, a Canadian artist, starting in 2007 with signs, painting and crafts. In 2010 they began creating sand sculptures at the cruise port in Mahogany Bay, and Ronis has been sculpting on the island ever since. In 2021 he and his wife Evlyn took over the business, which today also runs the Roatan Fire Show and private tours of the island.
